"Navigating positive Pacific change by telling our tales."

From the beginning |
Where I Am now |
I wrote all the time. Whether it be in my diary, with my fingers in the air, or on fogged up windows. I listened to artists like Lauryn Hill, MF Doom, Rakim, Mos Def and Andre 3000. Each of them had their own style, rhythm and unique sound. I would often find myself trying to deconstruct their work and figure out how they came about writing and performing such golden bars. It was from them that I knew the importance of using my own creative license to express myself, no one would ever know or share my story like I would.

From being a high school student who would sit with four of my best mates in a lunch room, talking about taking over the world with our writing. To now facilitating Spoken Word Poetry workshops in Auckland (New Zealand), New South Wales, Brisbane (Australia) and Upolu (Samoa.) The journey so far has been a long, uncomfortable yet satisfying one. I will continue to be the change I wish to see in the world by sharing stories, creating safe spaces and bringing platforms to artists who need to see the beauty alongside the ugly in their forms.
