My name is Rebecca Sang Yum and I am very passionate about storytelling. I am a proud Samoan, everywhere I go I carry with me my ancestors who were tagata folau (navigators), voyagers and tusitala (teller of tales). I facilitate spoken word poetry workshops where I uncover the importance of using our creative licences to drive positive change within ourselves, each other and our communities.

Exploring creative depths |
A lasting journey |
In each workshop we look at breaking down barriers and structures of writing so that we can do so freely. There is no right or wrong in spoken word poetry, it is simply expression. When advancing, we focus on incorporating other art forms like dance, music and multi media.

Whether it is someone's first or hundredth time writing and performing, each experience and platform is important for spiritual growth. You learn more about your space, mind and heart. With this journey you make life long friends and become more familiar with your own levels of comfort, what will you allow others to know about you? You decide how your story will be told.
